VL100是一个高度集成的单芯片，适应于USB Type-C 转DisplayPort交替模式控制器的设备，比如：Type-C 影像适配器，Type-C TV/显示器/投影仪，和Type-C多功能扩展设备。

VL100集成了充电UFP功能，从而在可以执行DP ALT模式视频输出功能的同时，也能对外部设备进行PD电源检测。外部电源支持5V USB电源，5V DC直流，或从Type-C适配器直接取电

VL100会对Type-C source端连接PD主机的sink端的电源进行智能管理，支持电池充电模式。内置了sbu1 / sbu2开关可支持Type-C线缆翻转功能。符合VESA协会定义的DP ALT模式的Type-C规格也可以适用于USB2.0的广告牌。

VL100内置线性稳压器和电源要求探测器，在3.3V或5V电源工作下，支持10个GPIO引脚可用于端口功率检测，功率放电控制，电源开关控制，数据开关控制，或其他特殊应用，支持通过USB设备固件升级。
