VL210是一个第四代先进USB 3.0 Hub控制器。VL210具有四个下行端口:一个USB 3.0和3个USB 2.0端口,每个端口都可以在不需要外挂电源IC就可以实现充电器的功能。VL210拥有先进的CMOS工艺，能够大大降低功耗并在低功耗状态下完全支持USB电源管理。客户可对USB PHY进行自定义，并可以给VL210各种信道提供良好的性能，使得VL210可支持新2.4GHz Radio Friendly mode的USB EMI认证。VL210特点是一个高度灵活的固件架构,给客户提供一个框架用于客户自行开发其他高级功能。

VIA的VL210可工作在Windows,Mac OS X，Linux等系统。VL210还可以兼容非x86的设备和平台,支持USB集线器功能,如智能手机、平板电脑和机顶盒。它适合所有USB集线器应用,如独立的USB集线器,笔记本/ Ultrabook停靠点/ port-replicators,台式电脑前面板,二合一平板电脑,和USB集线器复合设备。

VL210集成了过流保护电路,GPIO、LED控制，SPI接口还可支持USB更新EEPROM/Flash ROM，是一个设计具有高水准、简洁的布局设计和简化的BOM成本的完美设计。
